NoDAPL: Community Gathering with Chase Iron Eyes (Seattle, WA)
Washington Hall
153 14th Ave
Seattle, WA 98122
Come share space with Standing Rock Sioux Tribe Member, Water Protector & Lawyer, Chase Iron Eyes!
Note: CAPACITY IS 200.
Chase Iron Eyes, along with thousands of others, have been on the front lines of the struggle to prevent the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) in North Dakota. With a vision for freedom of his people, Chase has been outspoken against the pipeline and has put his body behind his words.
Chase was born and raised, and currently lives, on the Standing Rock Reservation. He has committed to continue the the peaceful and prayerful battle against the pipeline until it is completely stopped.
Chase and other Water Protectos were recently arrested; but local and federal law enforcement have chosen to try and make an example out of him by charging him with a felony (which carries up to a 5 year prison sentence) only because he is relentlessly standing up for what we all is know is right – To Protect Mother Earth.
Please join us in this community conversation with Chase to hear about updates from Standing Rock, future plans, and what we can all do as allies and urban Water Protectors to prevent the DAPL.
Event will also feature local organizers involved in Defund DAPL Seattle
Rachel Heaton (Muckleshoot)
Kshama Sawant (Seattle City Council member)
Edwin Lindo (Injustice Boycott)
Nikkita Oliver (No new youth jail coalition)
Matt Remle (Lakota)
