Doin’ It In The Park: Rhymes, Beats & Dance
for Seattle Arts in the Parks, July 27, 2024 

Seattle WA July 8, 2024 – The community festival “Doin’ It in the Park” will bring music, dance, food and more to Dr Blanche Lavizzo Park on July 27, 2024 as part of Seattle’s Arts in the Parks program. Featured performers on the main stage will include Fraggle Rock Crew presenting their “Soul Revolution!” show with music by Global Heat band; the soulful Omega band; and DJ Kole spinning a variety of hits. 

Doin’ It In The Park: Rhymes, Beats & Dance will be a celebration of music, dance and community. 

• Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 1 PM to 7 PM. Starting with DJ Kole, the Soul Revolution show will be 2:30 to 4:30 PM followed by Omega 4:30 to 5:30 PM; with DJ Kole and other artists from 5:30 to 7 PM. 

• Location: Dr Blanche Lavizzo Park, 2050 S Jackson St, Seattle, WA 98144 

• Admission: Free for all-ages. No alcohol and no off-lease pets please. 

• This event is supported by a grant under Seattle’s Arts in the Parks program, a partnership of the Office of Arts & Culture with Seattle Parks and Recreation. 

SOUL REVOLUTION! 

“Amped and energetic… Amazing” [Arts Programs Specialist, Seattle Center Programs and Events] 

Featuring the world-renowned Fraggle Rock Crew, “Soul Revolution!” takes you on a journey from the original hip-hop dance styles of the 1960s (Popping, Locking, Breaking) to present day Fusion and Freestyling. Fraggle Rock Crew has opened for such artists as Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott, Black Eyed Peas, DJ Clue, Jurassic 5, and others. Global Heat provides the live music for “Soul Revolution!” covering the classic hits associated with each era of hip hop dance. 

SPECIAL GUESTS
Omega band featuring Soul vocalist Arzelia “Z” Jones Jr & drummer Conrad Real will bring their soaring vocals, deep grooves, and fiery drum solos. Members of Omega have worked with Digible Planets, Down North, Triple Treat, The Dylan Hughes Collaboration, and others. Also on the program is DJ Kole who will keep the crowd jumping throughout the festival.
