Hip Hop Climate Conference

November 7 @ 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM

About HHCCC

The Hip Hop Climate Conference & Concert (HHCCC) is a joint venture between the two nonprofits Hip Hop Is Green (HHIG) and AVELA – A Vision for Engineering Literacy & Access (AVELA). This project was co-created by Keith Tucker, Executive Director of HHIG and originator of the 10th Element of Hip Hop, together with Kyle Johnson, Executive Director of AVELA. Both organizations are excited to unite their efforts and combine their shared vision and dedication to empower communities through education, culture, and environmentalism. Hip Hop 4 Peace, founded and directed by Tina Marie Tyler, is helping produce this event, working collaboratively with HHIG and AVELA to bring this impactful initiative to life.
The HHCCC 501(c)(3) seeks to unite Hip Hop culture and Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) learning by activating a new generation of engineers, climate advocates, and promoters of healthy living. Our events are designed to spotlight the direct action of organizations like AVELA and HHIG, promote science-based solutions to climate change, and uplift the 10th Element of Hip Hop as part of a new culture rooted in health & wellness and earth advocacy. We strive to increase Black and Brown enrollment in STEM fields as a pathway to careers in science and eco-activism.
